My Quote For the Day
From the opening fly leaf of a book I haven't yet read called How the Homosexuals Saved Civilization:
If you removed all of the homos and
homo influence from what is generally regarded as American culture,
you would be pretty much left with Let's Make a Deal. ---Fran Lebowitz
I think I mentioned a personal experience, sitting in a hotel room in NYC watching a special show on the people who had died from AIDS at that time. It was probably around 1990. The toll was horrendous, and the contributions of that group, tragically cut short, were so huge.
Thankfully, the pace of the carnage is slowed, significantly. But I still think of how much those people could have contributed to the world in general had they not died prematurely.
Then there are folks like me who cannot, at this time, die prematurely. And, the contributions, unless I pick up the pace, are pretty insignificant.
