This Isn´t Much of a Limb I´m Going Out On

Allow me to make a prediction here. No matter how the election turns out, but especially if Obama wins, New Jersey Governor Christie will be anathematized by Republicans for his completely non-partisan efforts to cooperate with the President in dealing with the results of the hurricane...or put another way, for caring more for the citizens of his state than he hates Obama.

This quote seems to be the kind of vehement criticism you anticipate:

“Gov. Christie's doing his job. He's the governor of the state that's been hit by a very, very horrific storm,” Romney adviser Russ Schriefer said in a conference call with reporters. “He's doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing as governor of New Jersey. And the president is doing what he needs to be doing as president.”

It´s still early; just let this percolate for a while...especially, as I said, if Obama wins the election.

But we are already seeing the beginning. I just googled "criticism of christie" and found that some "popular blogger" at Hot Air is already writing about skeptics on the right who are questioning Christie's motives.

And the National Review on line has a story refuting supposed right wing claims that Christie is trying to subvert the Romney campaign for his own gain four years down the road. Supposedly such a reputable journal wouldn't feel the need to shoot down claims that weren't being made.
