The Oboogy Man

I almost feel sorry for the extreme Obama haters. They can´t decide whether he´s most like Hitler, Stalin or Nixon. Or, for that matter, on so-called national security issues, George W. Bush.

And this on top of their long-standing inability to decide if he is an incompetent bumbler or the architect of a master plan to take away all of our liberties.

Or all of the above?

I'm voting most of the time for incompetent, but schooled in Chicago.

Not a great school...for the rest of us.

With people like the NYT and the 6,000% increase in the sales of George Orwell's 1984, concern has spread from the extremes.

But just look at the record. What has been done is questionable, progress is extremely limited and the old "blame it on Bush" angle is getting a bit worn.

Yes, indeed. Let's look at the record.

You have a mantra about oh they're trying to "blame it on Bush." But the Shrub's role in domestic surveillance is part of that record you want to look at.

The reason the NYT and people on the left are critical of Obama, is because he has continued programs authorized by the Patriot Act (section 215 I believe) and initiated by George W. Cheney.

That is even the reason the leaker has given for his acts, i.e. that he took Obama at his word that he would end these programs, but he failed to do so.

You still have never commented on the Patriot Act, which is the reason you can't impeach Obama for this, much as you'd love to.
